Our Mission
At First Church of God, Columbia, South Carolina, we are committed to glorifying God by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, nurturing believers in Spirit-led holiness, and fostering the visible unity of God’s people. We also seek to offer hope through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to all individuals so that each can experience love, acceptance, and restoration by the Holy Spirit.

Mission Statement
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
What services do you offer?
We offer worship services, community events, and spiritual guidance to help individuals grow in faith.
As a congregation in the Church of God Reformation Movement (Anderson, Indiana), we affirm:
The authority of Scripture.
The call to holiness.
The unity of all believes in Christ.
We also joyfully proclaim the Five Solas of the Reformation
Sola Scripture – Scripture alone is our highest authority.
Sola Gratia – We are saved by grace alone.
Sola Fide – Justified by Faith alone.
Solus Christus – Christ alone is our redeemer.
Soli Deo Gloria – All for the glory of God alone.
Our desire is to be a holy place, a united church, and a gospel witness in Columbia and beyond.
What we believe at First Church of God, Columbia, South Carolina
God: One eternal God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – Creator and Sovereign Lord.
Jesus Christ: Fully God and fully man, crucified and risen, the only way to the Father.
The Bible: Inspired, trustworthy, and sufficient for doctrine and life.
Salvation: by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
Sanctification: A work of the holy Spirit making believers holy in heart and life.
The Church: The one body of Christ, composed of all true believers.
Mission: to make disciples, proclaim justice, and live out the kingdom of God.
Christ’s Return: Jesus will return bodily to judge and renew all things.
